
John Sims
John is a highly decorated and accomplished Retired Special Forces Sergeant Major with a 26-year tenure in the military, all of which were dedicated to Special Operations Forces (SOF) missions. Throughout his service, John participated in a total of 13 direct action combat deployments in challenging and high-stakes environments across Iraq and Afghanistan. Additionally, he completed three deployments to former Yugoslavia.
John assumed the role of Combat Developer for USSOCOM in his final years of service. John also served as a voting member of the DOD Combat Casualty Care Committee (Joint Planning Counsel 6) and the USSOCOM Biomedical Research Advisory Group. As well, he served as a key member on multiple programmatic review panels under the Defense Health Agency for Combat Casualty Care, where his insights and experience shaped critical decisions regarding medical care for wounded personnel. As a Special Forces medical sergeant, he was responsible for providing lifesaving medical aid and support in the most challenging and austere environments. As an Assault Medic, he played a crucial role in ensuring the success and safety of his team during high-intensity operations. Additionally, he served as a Special Forces Communications Sergeant, showcasing his expertise in maintaining secure and effective communication networks under challenging conditions. John currently holds credentials as an NREMT-P-Critical Care, FEMA Disaster Medical Specialist and a Dive medic.
